Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) & CPP-Disability

The Canada Pension Plan ensures contributing Canadians and their families protection to a certain extent against the loss of income due to retirement, disability and death. As a contributing Canadian you may be entitled to disability benefits, retirement pension and survivor benefits.

CPP-Disability is a federal benefit that is provided to those who have made enough contributions to the CPP and who are deemed disabled and unable to work at any job on a regular basis.

The definition of disability under the CPP Act is defined as "severe" and "prolonged". To be considered disabled, you must have a physical or mental disability that prevents you from doing any type of substantially gainful work and is one that is of indefinite duration.

If you feel that you are disabled and unable to work in any type of gainful employment, let us help you apply for your right to CPP-Disability benefits.

Should your application be denied, do not worry! We will request a reconsideration to Service Canada, and if that is once again denied, we will appeal your CPP-Disability matter to the Social Security Tribunal of Canada (SST).

For more information on the different CPP benefits visit the following link:

Social Security Tribunal of Canada (SST)

The Social Security Tribunal (SST) is an independent tribunal that makes decisions on appeals from the Canada Pension Plan and other Acts.

Should your application for CPP-Disability benefits be denied by Service Canada, including the reconsideration, we will appeal your decision to the general division of the Social Security Tribunal.

If it is once again denied, we may be able to request a leave to appeal to the Appeals Division of the Social Security Tribunal.

If your application has been denied, we would be happy to help you appeal your decision to the SST.
